Your Gray Interior
Gray interiors have been a North American trend for the last seven years. Trends generally have a shelf life of 10 (give or take) years which tells us we’re nearing the end of this one.
But, what if you love your gray interior and just want to refresh the way it looks and feels? Or, your gray is here to stay because you quite literally bought into the trend with gray tile, carpeting, cabinetry, and furniture?
Never fear because Your Life in Full Color has you covered. I’m used to working with existing paint colors and finishes and know just what to do to refresh a gray interior!
Nothing perks up gray like clear, bright colors. While that could include raspberry, lemon yellow, orange, or royal blue I’ve decided to spotlight every Spring’s most relevant color; grass-green.
So, let’s get started on these easy and inexpensive gray interior updates.
Gray Interior Refresh #1
Artwork is a welcome addition to any room and utilizing our color, grass-green, is the name of the game here. Keep in mind that artwork is also capable of changing the feel of a room. If your go-to artwork style is something very traditional, see if you can find something you like that’s more whimsical or a tad more contemporary for this piece.
Gray Interior Refresh #2
Good lighting is a must, (especially with a gray interior) and lamps are an important piece of that puzzle. In addition to illuminating a space, lamps can also add ambiance and (in this case!) color. Consider adding grass-green through the base and/or the shade.
Gray Interior Refresh #3
Curtains are a great way to add grass-green to your gray interior. Not only can you add color, but pattern and texture can be added to the room through the curtain fabric as well.
Gray Interior Refresh #4
Bring the outdoors in with this terrarium. Any number of green plants can be used, but notice how pretty (and soothing) the addition of plants can be.Try starting green succulents or air plants; two plants very well suited to a terrarium.
Gray Interior Refresh #5
Start a tablescape utilizing this grass-green tray. Make sure to add items of varying heights and textures to keep your creation interesting. And be sure to leave enough “blank space” to show the green tray off to its fullest.
I hope you’ll consider adding grass-green to your gray interior to add new life to your gray rooms. And if you’re a green lover, head on over to my “Everything Green” Pinterest board to see more green beauties!
